1、 Cement concrete pavement

Cement concrete pavement is basically a pavement with cement and concrete as the main materials as the bearing surface. It is a kind of rigid pavement. Cement concrete pavement is also divided into many types, including plain concrete, reinforced concrete, continuously reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and so on.

The advantages of cement concrete pavement: cement concrete pavement is a pavement structure with large stiffness, strong diffusive load stress capacity, good stability and long service life. The advantages are high strength, good stability, good durability, low maintenance cost, good skid resistance and conducive to driving at night.

Disadvantages: the demand for cement and water is large. Building a 20cm thick and 7m wide cement concrete pavement requires 400 ~ 500 tons of cement and about 250 tons of water per kilometer to mix together in the concrete mixer. There are many joints, late opening traffic and difficult maintenance and repair. It is basically broken and a large number of cracks can not be repaired. It can only be used, or pushed down and rebuilt.

2、Asphalt pavement

Asphalt pavement is popularly interpreted as a pavement paved with asphalt materials. Asphalt is a dark brown complex mixture composed of hydrocarbons with different molecular weights and their non-metallic derivatives. It is a kind of high viscosity organic liquid, which is liquid, black on the surface and soluble in carbon disulfide, It is a widely used waterproof, moisture-proof and anti-corrosion organic cementitious material.

Because of the above characteristics of asphalt materials, asphalt pavement also has the high-quality characteristics of high damage resistance, flat pavement, less dust, impermeable and durable. It is a typical flexible pavement, which is opposite to the cement concrete pavement (rigid). The maintenance cost of asphalt pavement is high, but it can be repaired, while the complete repair of cement concrete pavement is unlikely.
